The son of independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has leaked a video showing his father talking on the phone with former President Donald Trump. During the call, the Republican candidate tells Kennedy Jr. what he felt during the shootings in Pennsylvania over the weekend that nearly killed him.

“Something hit me. It looked like the biggest mosquito in the world. And it was, it was a bullet going by,” Trump is heard telling Kennedy Jr.

Trump was shot in the ear by a 20-year-old man. Rep. Ronny Jackson, a doctor who examined Trump’s ear, told NBC News that Trump is missing a bit of the top of his ear and that he has been covering the wound with bandages. However, he said the former president is “doing great.”

In the call, Trump said he was shot with an AR-15-style weapon. “They’re pretty tough guns, right?” he told the Independent in the phone call that took place last Sunday.

The video also shows Kennedy Jr., who has a long history of anti-vaxxing, speaking to the former president about vaccines, with Trump telling him: “I agree with you, man, there’s something wrong with that whole system.”

Seeks Kennedy’s support

Trump was also heard telling Kennedy that President Joe Biden was “very nice” when he called him after the assassination attempt.

The former president tried to get the independent candidate’s support in that conversation: “It would be such a great and good thing for you. We’re going to win. We’re way ahead of the guy,” he said in reference to Biden, according to the EFE news agency.

However, the independent, who also met with Trump in Wisconsin, ruled out withdrawing from the presidential race on Monday.

“There are a lot of rumors circulating about my meeting this morning with President Trump. Our main topic was national unity and I look forward to meeting with Democratic leaders on that topic as well,” he wrote on X. “No, I am not dropping out of the race.”

The video was posted by Bobby Kennedy III, the son of the independent candidate. After deleting the post, Kennedy Jr. apologized to former President Trump for the leak.

“When President Trump called me, I was recording with an in-house cameraman. I should have ordered the cameraman to stop recording immediately. I am embarrassed that this was published. I apologize to the President,” the independent candidate wrote on X.
