Carlos Torres and Martin Figueroa were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking after New York police seized nearly 25 pounds of narcotics and a gun from an apartment in the Bronx (NYC).

Torres and Figueroa were arrested on Friday and charged with multiple drug and weapons charges, police reported yesterday. PIX11 News. The arrests arose from an undercover investigation, during which Torres allegedly sold cocaine to an undercover officer, the NYPD said.

The officer met Torres at 1460 St. Lawrence Ave. There, Figueroa was seen on the roof of an adjacent garage, from where he apparently threw Torres a black bag containing two kilograms of cocaine, according to the NYPD.

Officers arrested the two and obtained a search warrant for the basement apartment in that same building. During the search, police seized nearly 25 pounds of narcotics, including heroin/fentanyl, oxycodone and methamphetamine pills, and a 9mm handgun with an extended magazine.

Some of the drugs were packaged in glassine with “Playboy” and “Tesla” stamps, police said. The drugs were sent to a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) laboratory for analysis.

All charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

In a similar case, earlier this month eight Hispanics from three families were identified as suspects arrested for selling drugs and weapons from a store and a car parked outside the New York Yankees stadium in the Bronx, an activity that took place for several months, including during baseball games. According to the police, an undercover investigator bought cocaine and methamphetamine pills from them.
