Ralf Schumascher, former F1 driver and also known for being the brother of seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher, made his homosexuality public on Tuesday by posting a picture on his Instagram account with his partner and manager, Etienne.

In a post that went around the world, the youngest of the Schumachers published a picture of himself hugging Etienne, about whom no further details are known except that he is a politician and French, while they were watching a sunset.

In fact, the image was accompanied by a short text in which she confessed her feelings without caring what others would say.

“The most beautiful thing in life is when you have the right partner at your side with whom you can share everything,” wrote the winner of six races in the top category of motorsport.

Regarding his declaration of his sexuality, his son David, who had him with his ex-wife Cora Brinkmann, showed his irrefutable support in the comments of the publication, where he declared his happiness because his father found an environment where he felt “comfortable and safe.”

The news is not the first of its kind seen in Formula 1, with former driver Mike Beuttler being a pioneer, who came out as gay in the 70s and 80s, and with other drivers such as world champions Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel constantly supporting the LGBT+ movement.
