Irish fighter Conor McGregor, two-time MMA world champion and founder of the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) league, said that bare-knuckle boxing takes hand-to-hand combat to “a new level.”

McGregor, who is in Marbella (Spain) to present the first BKFC fight in Spain, arrived at the event several hours late and surrounded by a strong security presence, according to EFE.

Known as “Notorious” to his fans, McGregor has become a reference for fight fans. The Irishman stressed that discipline, dedication and confidence are fundamental values for success, both in fighting and in any other aspect of life.

In his opinion, martial arts are an ideal activity for young people, as they instill these values. He encouraged parents to introduce their children to this sport, pointing out that, although there is a certain degree of risk, it is minimized by following safety protocols.

Although he was initially unsure of the location of the Santiago Bernabéu, once it was clarified, he expressed his enthusiasm for the idea of competing in Real Madrid’s stadium. He assured that “big events” are coming to Spain, and especially to its capital.

While he avoided speaking in depth about Spanish fighter Ilia Topuria, he hinted that he would not be intimidated by facing him in the ring. He did not rule out the possibility of a future encounter, although he does not consider it likely.
