A total of 4,600 boxes of Lundberg Family Farms Sustainable Wild Blend gourmet rice are being recalled because the product may contain a foreign object that appears to be of rodent origin, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reported.

This is a product from Wehah Farms of Richvale that began to be recalled on May 10, 2024 and continues, the FDA says.

The FDA classified the product as a Class II hazard, which applies to “a situation where use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the likelihood of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”

The 4,600 boxes of Sustainable Wild Blend gourmet rice were distributed in seven states across the country: California, Oregon, Wisconsin, Maine, Florida, Arizona and New Hampshire.

The recalled product specifications indicate that it is Lundberg Family Farms Sustainable Wild Blend Gourmet Rice, in 1-pound polybags, packaged in 4,600 boxes of 6 bags each.

The rice packaging has batch code information with the number 231004, with an expiration date of October 4, 2024.

Consumers and retailers are advised to avoid using the product, discard it or return it to the place of purchase.
