The time when everyone feared the Brazilian team that never stopped winning seems to have been left behind. The Canarinha are currently going through a difficult sporting moment in which they have not been able to find their highest level again.

One of the stars of the Brazil of the 1990s, who won the World Cup in 1994, is Romário. The striker scored five goals in that edition and won the award for Best Player of the tournament.

Recently, the legend of the national team gave his opinion on the current Brazil and was very forceful about it. He even gave the “solution” to the problems of the five-time world champion. This was in the framework of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Brazil’s fourth World Cup in 1994.

According to the former player, who won the World Cup with Brazil in the United States in 1994, the national team must do everything possible to play for Neymar. The captain and star of the team, this is the only way Brazil can win something again.

“If they don’t play for Neymar, Brazil won’t be champions. He’s already played in three World Cups. He’s the guy who makes the difference. Until Brazil understands that they have to play for Neymar, they’re going to be screwed,” the former striker said forcefully.

Neymar is currently recovering from a serious cruciate ligament injury that has kept him off the pitch since October. That is why the Al Hilal star missed the Copa América with Brazil.

Romário also took the opportunity to show his support for the current coach of the national team, Dorival Júnior, who has received negative comments after Brazil’s elimination in the quarter-finals of the Copa América.

“I support the coach, no matter where he is from. If there are better players in Brazil than in Europe, they should be called up, but everyone wants their chance. Football has always been like that, especially when it comes to the national team. I have faith in Dorival, but I hope he makes better decisions in the next call-ups,” he explained.
