Joe Biden was not fit to be president of the United States, Republican Donald Trump said after the Democratic president announced his withdrawal from the election.

“Corrupt Joe Biden was not fit to be president and is certainly not fit to hold office. And he never was! He only rose to the office of president with lies, fake news, and by staying in his basement,” the former US president said on his social network Truth.

Biden, 81, has been under intense pressure for weeks from Democratic Party members who questioned his ability to take on Trump in the Nov. 5 election.

These doubts arose after the poor performance of the now former Democratic candidate in the presidential debate with the New York magnate. He seemed scattered and had difficulty connecting his ideas and expressing them.

In the same post, Donald Trump said: “Everyone around him, including his doctor and the media, knew he was not fit to be President, and he was not. And now, look what he has done to our Country.”

He also said that millions of people cross the southern border of the United States without any kind of control or verification and insisted that many supposedly come from prisons and psychiatric institutions. He also said that there is a “record number” of terrorists.

“We will suffer greatly from his presidency, but we will remedy the damage he has caused very quickly. Let’s make America great again!” he said.
