A young Hispanic woman from Pennsylvania lost her life in the Bronx early Saturday morning when a BMW collided with the vehicle she was traveling in and sent it crashing into a parked truck, authorities reported.

Identified as Jinmaris Melendez, 21, she was in the passenger seat of a Ford Focus about 2:45 a.m. when it was involved in a fiery collision with a purple BMW at the corner of Viele Ave. and Manida St., a stretch of abandoned commercial buildings in Hunts Point, officials said.

The BMW crashed into a parked truck, causing Melendez to suffer serious injuries to his head and body, police said.

Emergency paramedics immediately rushed the woman to Lincoln Hospital, where she was declared unresponsive, the Daily News reported.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) said the Ford, which she was driving east on Viele Ave., crashed into the BMW, which was heading north on Manida St.

It is not yet clear which vehicle caused the accident.

A 37-year-old man who was behind the wheel of the Ford, with two women, ages 22 and 23, in the back seat, were also rushed to Lincoln Hospital and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The 23-year-old man driving the BMW suffered minor injuries and remained at the scene.

An unidentified female passenger in the BMW fled the scene and has not yet been questioned, the NYPD said.

No charges have immediately been filed.
