Two men were killed and a third was struggling to survive Sunday night after a pair of shootings that occurred within minutes of each other near a migrant shelter in Brooklyn, police sources said.

A man in his 30s was shot in the chest and arm around 10:44 p.m. in a park near Flushing Avenue and Steubn Street outside the Brooklyn Navy Yard, authorities and sources said.

The man was rushed to Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries, according to the New York Police Department (NYPD).

About seven minutes later, two people were shot outside the migrant shelter at 29 Ryerson Street, less than a quarter mile from the shooting, officials said.

A 47-year-old man was shot in the head and later pronounced dead at the hospital, while the other victim, believed to be in his 30s, was in critical condition at the hospital after being shot multiple times.

According to preliminary police information, the shootings appear to be related and all the victims are immigrants, the New York Post reported.

Investigators are investigating whether members of the Venezuelan criminal gang El Tren de Aragua who were travelling on mopeds were involved in the shootings, the sources said.

As of Monday morning, there have been no arrests in this case.

The Ryerson Street shelter was opened by New York City and has been refurbished to house about 765 single adult immigrants, BK Reader reported.
