The number 25 prospect in all of Major League Baseball and number one for the New York Yankees, Dominican Jasson Dominguez, would be very close to returning to action after feeling discomfort a few weeks ago during his recovery from a Tommy John surgery he underwent in September 2023.

According to information from Yankees manager Aaron Boone, Dominguez is expected to travel to Florida in the next few hours to join the Yankees’ Triple-A team, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and thus begin the final phase of his recovery.

The outfielder could be useful for Boone in this last stage of the season, especially given the injuries that have plagued the Mules in recent days.

In fact, in a press conference the manager assured that the idea is for Domínguez to be in perfect health before thinking about returning to the Yankees’ big team, where he debuted in 2023.

“When he is healthy, he will be eligible for promotion. I am not looking for any number of shifts. When a need arises, he will be an alternative,” explained the Bronx boss.

In mid-June, it looked like Dominguez would be back in action, but a strained left oblique muscle delayed his recovery. Since then, it has been at least eight weeks before we see Dominguez back on the diamond.

Dominguez is expected to return to the big team at some point this season and contribute to an offense that has been affected in recent days.
