Washington – Former President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Tuesday that the Biden-Kamala Harris administration failed to “adequately protect” him following the resignation of Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle.
“The Biden/Harris Administration failed to adequately protect me, and I was forced to take a bullet for democracy. IT WAS A GREAT HONOR TO DO SO!” Trump said in a message shared on his social network, Truth Social.
Cheatle resigned on Tuesday, 10 days after the attempted assassination of Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania.
The former head of the Secret Service was under enormous political pressure after admitting that the attempted assassination of the former president was the agency’s “biggest operational failure” in decades.
