Actress Gaby Spanic did not remain silent and raised her voice when she considered that she received mistreatment upon her arrival at the international airport in Mexico City, after being in Miami.

The Venezuelan woman, who met with the media at the scene, took the opportunity to report that she had been mistreated, allegedly by Mexican customs officials, because of two packs of cigarettes she had bought in the United States and tried to bring into the country, but they retained them, they wanted to charge her an excessive fine of $600 dollars and they even wanted to take her passport.

“I cried from helplessness and anger. If I had a man next to me, they wouldn’t stop me. They mistreated me, I feel bad,” she told the cameras.

During the interview with the press, Gaby Spanic was accompanied by her 17-year-old son Gabriel, who tried to calm her down.

“I am unaware of this and they are forcing me to do it. They left me waiting for more than half an hour and fined me for everything; they wanted me to sign a bunch of papers and I don’t sign papers without a lawyer,” he added.

Spanic also said that she found the treatment she received from the workers uncomfortable and considered it discriminatory.

“That is discrimination, that is xenophobia. I felt mistreated… Abuse of power, abuse of authority. Some women from customs were mocking me and laughing at me in an ugly way.”

Gaby Spanic explained that she was only carrying two packs of cigarettes, so she considered the fine excessive and refused to pay it, which ended up causing the product to be taken away from her. In addition, the possibility of taking legal action for what happened was left open.
