Barcelona striker Ansu Fati has suffered another injury. This time, it is a problem with the sole of his right foot that will prevent him from participating in the team’s pre-season tour of the United States, which begins this Sunday.

According to the Catalan club, the striker’s period of absence was not specified, as he was hoping to gain the trust of new coach Hansi Flick. Fati was injured during training on Tuesday and will undergo conservative treatment in Barcelona.

This new injury is a major setback for Fati, who was hoping to gain the new coach’s trust and play an important role in the team next season. The young striker has already suffered several serious injuries in his short career, which has slowed his progress.

The Spaniard made his debut with Barcelona’s first team at 16 years, 9 months and 25 days on August 5, 2019, against Betis in a League match.

After scoring eight goals and providing one assist in his first season as a professional, Fati tore the internal meniscus in his left knee on November 7, 2020 against Betis, an injury for which he had to undergo four operations and was out of action for almost a year.

The striker returned on September 26, 2021 against Levante but two months later he tore the hamstring in his left leg against Celta, an injury that he suffered again two months later.

After playing 10 games in the 2020-2021 season and 15 the following year, Fati played 55 games in the 2022-2023 campaign, with a balance of 10 goals and 4 assists, before going on loan to Brighton.

Fati, who will turn 22 in October, has a contract with Barça until 2027. Despite his injuries, the club remains confident in his potential and hopes he can return to his best in the future.
