A total of 104 groups, each consisting of four people, competed for the best places in the tournament.
According to the website of the Dr. Ramón Tallaj Foundation, the scholarship recipients reflect the geographic, economic, social and cultural diversity. “The dignity of an individual cannot be denied. In our foundation we affirm the inalienable right to life, to family, to foster a social climate favorable to integral development, solidarity and mutual appreciation,” it states.
Dr. Ramón Tallaj, a philanthropist in society and president of “SOMOS Community Care,” thanked those present for their support of this humanitarian cause, highlighting that this type of aid and scholarships will benefit outstanding academic students from backgrounds that would not have access to the world of health professionals to fulfill their social commitment.
Dr. Inés Hernández, wife of Dr. Tallaj, along with Alex Damirón and Stephanie Duluc, senior executives of SOMOS Community Care, were the main organizers of this tournament, together with an efficient group of women and men from SOMOS.
