This week the British Royal Family published its Sovereign Grant (2023-2024), in which it clarifies the royal family’s accounts during this season.
With this recent publication it has become clear that Frogmore Cottage, the property that belonged to Harry and Meghan Markle, has not yet been inhabited by new members of the royal family. It should be remembered that the idea is for the prince to move into that residence, but he refuses to do so.
Harry and Meghan Markle handed over the keys to their home in the United Kingdom last year. An official close to the royal family told the British newspaper ‘Daily Mail’ that he has no idea who might be moving in.
Prince Andrew, brother of King Charles III, refuses to move out of his home, known as Royal Lodge, even though he cannot maintain it and it is practically abandoned. It should be remembered that Prince Andrew has been part of a scandal and accusations of sexual abuse since 2019, he is related to the Jeffrey Epstein cases.
On the other hand, it should be remembered that Harry and Meghan moved to Frogmore Cottage in 2018. The property was a gift from Queen Elizabeth II to the couple, although they had to pay its monthly maintenance.
Shortly after, they decided to invest money in refurbishing the place, which they had to take care of themselves with their own money. In 2020, it was reported that the couple had returned the public money that was invested in their residence.
In 2020, the couple also bought a mansion in Montecito, California, and officially moved to the United States. In recent months, it has been said that they are looking for another home in California, but that has not yet been finalized.
