New York Yankees outfielder and captain Aaron Judge hit an impressive home run during his team’s 11-8 extra-inning victory over the Boston Red Sox on Saturday, with a ball that flew through the air straight into the streets surrounding Fenway Park.
In the first inning, and as part of an offensive that produced three runs at the start, Judge came to the plate and sealed the back-to-back that Juan Soto started with another home run to right field.
After Kutter Crawford’s error against Soto, he again left a pitch in the power zone for the Mules star to open his arms and send the ball to the left field field.
The funny thing is that there were many fans waiting for the ball, including a small Yankees fan, but in the end the ball continued on its path towards the streets surrounding the legendary Boston stadium.
Judge’s blast, his 37th of the season, comes just 24 hours after his 470-foot homer at Fenway Park on Friday, making it the fourth-longest hit of 2024 after hits by Jorge Soler (478 feet), Shohei Ohtani (473) and Juan Soto (473).
Additionally, Judge had his first career six-base game, going 4-for-4 with two walks and three RBIs.
Along with the offensive work of Judge and Soto, Venezuelan Oswaldo Cabrera also hit a home run that had a rather curious episode when outfielder Wilyer Abreu managed to catch the ball already in the right field stands but in his fall he lost the ball and the connection was ruled by the umpires as a full-home hit.
