Mexican actress Salma Hayek showed off her good relationship with Colombian superstar Shakira by showing off the gift the singer gave her.
It was through her official Instagram account that the interpreter of “Frida” shared a photograph next to a vinyl of the South American artist’s latest album “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran”.
However, as simple as Shakira’s gift to Hayek may seem, the businesswoman also made sure to show her appreciation for the Mexican with a dedication on the same album: “For Salma with love and admiration.”
In addition to the above, and as a way of showing her admiration and gratitude to Shakira, the Oscar nominee for “Frida” shared a message in the same publication where she made clear the friendship she maintains with the interpreter of “Waka Waka”: “Music for the weekend. Shakira! Shakira! Long live the Latinas.”
Salma and Shakira: two great Latina friends
Within the same publication, but in another image, the Mexican actress maintained the position as in the first photograph, but this time pretending to kiss the disc.
This is not the first time that the Latin artists have shown their friendship and mutual admiration through social media. Last February, the interpreter of “Magic Mike: The Last Dance” sent a congratulations to the Colombian through a video where she appears dancing, on a treadmill, to one of the most important songs in the Colombian’s career: “Hips Don’t Lie.”
In the same post, the Mexican described Shakira as a “goddess of music,” in addition to celebrating Latin talent.
After the post, Shakira herself thanked Salma for the congratulations, also mentioning her admiration: “Salma, you are amazing. Latin pride!! We love you.”
Salma Hayek and Shakira raise the profile of the Latin community
Prior to her recent interaction on Instagram, the Mexican actress participated in the well-known Olympic flame relay, within the framework of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, walking with the torch through the renowned Palace of Versailles.
Despite her short participation, the Latin artist received great recognition among the participants and the media.
In the case of Shakira, the Colombian recently performed at halftime of the 2024 Copa América final in Miami, an event where her song “Puntería” became the main theme. After this performance, the Colombian will begin her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour” next November in the United States.
