Xolos de Tijuana coach Juan Carlos Osorio went crazy with the refereeing in the Leagues Cup and ended up going viral for his vehement reaction. The coach could not contain his anger after the injury suffered by his player Christian Rivera.
It all goes back to the 12th minute of the match. The Colombian had barely started and was already over the top. The manager’s hysteria was brought to a head when LAFC player Eddie Segura shoved Rivera in the back.
The Xolos player had to be taken to a hospital after being knocked unconscious due to the push and then the bad fall. Osorio’s annoyance was due to the refereeing and he showed it on the pitch by giving away a viral image that earned him an expulsion.
Osorio received the red card after angrily complaining to the fourth referee Vimarest Díaz, and then violently confronting the main referee Iván Barton, who he gave a subtle headbutt to the forehead. Or what is commonly known as a “bump”.
Xolos’ next match in Group 7 West of the Leagues Cup will be against Vancouver Whitecaps on August 3. Juan Carlos Osorio will not be able to sit on the bench due to his expulsion. Meanwhile, Rivera is still in doubt. Everything will depend on his physical development.
