Three women were injured in two stabbings at a subway station in Queens and another in Manhattan on Sunday night, authorities said.
A 23-year-old woman was stabbed multiple times in the torso area on the mezzanine of a Queens station, specifically at Jamaica-Van Wyck in the Richmond Hill section of the borough, around 8:30 p.m., according to the New York Police Department (NYPD).
The victim in question was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition.
Officers have taken a person of interest into custody and are questioning him as investigations continue, the NYPD said.
It is not entirely clear what relationship, if any, exists between the suspect and the victim, the New York Post reported.
Just over two hours later, a 27-year-old woman and a 33-year-old woman were stabbed near 261 Bowery in lower Manhattan, law enforcement officials said.
The incident occurred when a fight in a bar spilled into the street, officers said.
The 27-year-old victim suffered stab wounds to the back and the other had stab wounds to the neck and torso, police said.
Both women were transported to Bellevue Hospital and are listed in stable condition, authorities said.
A person of interest was also arrested, but it is not yet clear whether that individual is a potential suspect or simply a witness to the violence, the NYPD said.
