At least four dead in Venezuela
At least four people were killed and 44 others injured during protests on Monday against the re-election of Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela, questioned by the opposition and the international community amid allegations of fraud, according to NGOs.
“We have recorded 44 injured and 3 dead,” the National Hospital Survey, a network that monitors the hospital crisis, said on social media X. Two of the dead are from Aragua (center) and one from Caracas. These deaths add to the first reported in Yaracuy (northwest) by the NGO Foro Penal.
These numbers may change from one moment to the next.

Hooded police arrest former Venezuelan opposition deputy
A group of people described as “hooded officials” arrested former opposition deputy of Voluntad Popular Freddy Superlano and two of his collaborators on Tuesday, according to a complaint by the Vente Venezuela (VV) party through X, which shared a video in which he is seen being taken away in a vehicle.
“We are alerting the international community about this new wave of arrests against political leaders in Venezuela,” VV said on the social network, in whose video people can be heard booing and shouting in rejection of the arrest of the anti-Chavez activist and his companions.
Superlano was a member of the National Assembly (AN) that won the 2015 legislative elections, whose term extended from 2016, when Parliament was installed, until 2021.
