Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump gave an interview on Fox News in which he stressed that Vice President Kamala Harris, who could be the Democratic presidential nominee, would not be able to face world leaders because of her appearance, but also said that he “didn’t want to explain it in words” but that “viewers would know what he meant.”
Donald Trump, who has a history of attacking people at times without mincing his words, this time spoke about Kamala Harris during an interview with Laura Ingraham for Fox News.
“She’s going to be like a toy,” Trump said. “They’re going to look at her and say, ‘We can’t believe we got so lucky.’ They’re going to walk all over her,” he said, referring to the vice president when she has to speak to world leaders.
To make his point, Trump looked directly into the camera during his response, adding: “And I don’t want to say why, but a lot of people get it.”
According to him, he did not refer to his race or gender.
According to The Washington Post, Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said she was not referring to the vice president’s race or gender.
“She is weak, dishonest and dangerously liberal, and that is why the American people will reject her on November 5,” Leavitt told the paper.
The pro-Harris political action committee American Bridge 21st Century called Trump’s comment on Fox News about how Harris would compare to world leaders “very disgusting and bizarre.”
“Trump is hateful”
It is worth noting that Kamala Harris’ campaign criticized the former president. “Donald Trump is hateful, despicable, and should not be our president. He is anti-America, he insults America, why would we want to put him in charge of America?” they described, according to the Washington Post.
During the interview with Fox News, Laura Ingraham asked Trump how he would improve the lives of black women, whom Harris is encouraging. The businessman also responded that “Harris would drive on unsafe streets and that millions of people would come to take her and her husband’s jobs.”
Harris vs. Trump debate
Harris urged Trump to commit to debating her. Trump has been open to debate but has cast doubt on a September date hosted by ABC News that he had previously agreed to with President Biden before he withdrew from the race.
“Donald, I hope you will reconsider meeting me on the debate stage,” she told a packed arena in Atlanta. “As the saying goes, if you have something to say, say it to my face,” Harris said.
