In August, some Social Security beneficiaries in the United States could receive up to $4,873 in payments, depending on certain criteria.

These payments are scheduled for four different dates throughout the month, beginning on August 2.

The exact amount each person receives will vary depending on their work history and other factors.

The Social Security Administration will advance the first payment to August 2 because August 3 falls on a Saturday, thus avoiding possible delays.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients and those who began receiving benefits before May 1997 will receive their payments today.

The maximum amount of $4,873 will be received only if the person has worked and paid taxes on the highest amount of income allowed by Social Security for at least 35 years.

Additionally, they must have waited until they turned 70 to begin receiving benefits.

Payments will continue on August 14 for those born between the 1st and 10th of any month of the year, on August 21 for those born between the 11th and 20th of any month of the year, and on August 28 for those born after the 20th of any month of the year.

The average amount most retirees receive is approximately $1,918, although this figure can vary.
