Real Madrid’s Italian coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has confirmed that the systems he has in mind for next season are a 4-4-2 and a 4-3-3.

“The system can be 4-4-2 and 4-3-3, the same as last year. We have a squad with the resources to play with those systems,” he said.

“Vertical play was also what we wanted with Toni Kroos. It is always the idea we have. Bellingham is a player who has the quality to get into the box, the closer to the box, the better,” he said.

Ancelotti also revealed that Madrid’s squad for next season is complete.

“The squad is complete, we have no plans to sign others, Jesús Vallejo has returned, we have David Alaba, Joan Martínez, Jacobo Ramón, Raúl Asencio, we are well covered, also because Alaba will return,” he said.

Ancelotti said on Tuesday that despite his team losing Koos, they have “every opportunity in the world to replace him,” in a press conference ahead of Chicago’s friendly against Milan, with which he will open his American pre-season tour.

“I am not worried because we have a spectacular squad in all positions. Mbappé has joined and he is a fantastic player. We do not have much time to prepare for the first matches, but the players will return in good shape. They have a programme that starts 15 days before they arrive,” said Ancelotti.

“The most important thing was to rest after a long season. The whole group will be back on the 7th, and we will be ready when the season starts. We are missing Kroos, but we have every opportunity in the world to replace him, in a different way obviously, because there is no player with the quality that he has,” he added.

He also said that Brazilian Endrick will play 45 minutes in the friendly against Milan.

“It has been a very exciting week for him, he has impressive quality, he is very powerful, fast, he adapts very well to the team. I am not going to ask much of him because we have to keep in mind that it is an exciting time, tomorrow he will play 45 minutes, we are delighted that he is with us,” he said.

He also joked about the harsh “welcome” that Antonio Rudiger gave Endrick at Madrid’s training session on Monday in Chicago.

“Rudiger just said ‘welcome’ to Endrick,” he said, laughing.
