Actress María Eugenia Ríos, one of the most iconic figures in Mexican cinema and television, has passed away at the age of 88. The news was confirmed by her son, Andrés Bonfiglio, and by the National Actors Association, through emotional posts on social media.

“I deeply appreciate all your prayers, however, my Mommy decided to leave us 10 minutes ago to join my Beloved Daddy. May they live happily in eternity,” Bonfiglio wrote, along with four photos of her mother.

The National Actors Association also mourned the death of the artist who was recognized for her humanitarian and philanthropic work.

“The National Actors Association deeply regrets the death of our colleague María Eugenia Ríos, who dedicated years of her life to our Union and the Children’s Center. Our condolences to her family, friends, colleagues and companions. Rest in Peace,” reads the post they made on X.

Who was Maria Eugenia Rios?
