Selena Gomez once again took to social media to clarify one of the most frequently asked questions in her circle: has the singer undergone cosmetic surgery?
It was through TikTok that the “The Wizards of Waverly Place” actress made her presence felt through a video posted by plastic surgeon assistant Marissa Barrionuevo. In the video, the expert was asked if she thought Gomez had undergone any surgery.
The specialist said she had no idea if the singer had resorted to this type of treatment, mentioning that the disease the star suffers from, lupus, could be a factor in the obvious changes in her face that she has experienced in recent years.
I think she’s been through a lot in her life, especially when it comes to medical issues, so I don’t think it’s fair to speculate on whether or not she’s had any kind of cosmetic surgery. In the end, let’s just leave her alone.”
What did Selena Gomez respond?
After Barrionuevo’s video went viral, the same American producer made a comment to clarify that she has indeed undergone certain aesthetic changes such as the application of “stripes,” which would allude to the steroids included in her treatment for lupus.
She also said that she has used Botox, something that the singer herself has said on previous occasions. Finally, and as a way of putting an end to this controversy, the singer of “Single Soon” concluded with a “leave me alone.”
I really hate this. I got stripes because of a breakout. I got botox. That’s all. Leave me alone.”
Following Gomez’s comment, Marissa Barrionuevo used her TikTok account again to send an apology to the singer and reaffirm that she was the one who said it was better to leave the singer alone: “I really hope Selena Gomez doesn’t hate me. I agree with you, I think we should leave you alone and I said that in the video. I completely understand that it still makes you uncomfortable, so I’m sorry.”
After this response, Selena appeared again to tell Barrionuevo that she was not talking about her, in addition to sending him a loving message and revealing that it saddens her to talk about this topic.
