With more than a week to go until the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, rumours have begun to emerge regarding the closing ceremony show. The latest rumor, spread by the specialized media TMZ, indicates that it will be the American actor Tom Cruise who will be in charge of participating in the ceremony through a risky stunt.
According to reports, the actor from the “Mission Impossible” saga will show off some of his well-known acrobatics in order to be the one in charge of carrying the Olympic flag to the next destination of the sporting event: Los Angeles 2028.
What stunt will Tom Cruise do at the Paris Olympics?
Unlike the opening of the Olympics, which left behind the traditional ceremonies inside a stadium in favor of a series of actors along the Seine River and through some of the city’s most important monuments, the closing show will take place at the Stade de France, located in the municipality of Saint-Denis, on the outskirts of Paris.
For the above, and thanks to what was mentioned by TMZ, the American producer will also land in the middle of the Stade de France, after jumping in some kind of parachute, with the purpose of taking the flag to Los Angeles.
To carry out this action, it was revealed that a previously recorded video will be shown, in which the actor will be transported to the Californian city in a plane, then jump out of it and climb the famous Hollywood sign.
The above, logically, has not been confirmed or made official. However, the interpreter of “The Last Samurai” has been seen on multiple occasions in various competitions at the Paris Olympic Games.
Paris is filled with stars
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games, at its opening ceremony, featured a large number of guest stars such as Lady Gaga, French singer Aya Nakamura, among others.
However, despite the appearance of the previous celebrities, it was the return of Canadian Celine Dion that caused a real stir among those present and users on social networks and other media.
And after a large number of rumors were revealed regarding the return to the stage of the interpreter of “My Heart Will Go On”, after being away for years due to the Stiff Person Syndrome she suffers from, her appearance caused great joy and surprise after performing the song by the legendary French singer Edith Piaf, “Hymme L’amour”, on the Eiffel Tower, as a closing act.
