Last Thursday, Daniel Arenas surprised more than one person after announcing that it was his last show on ‘Hoy Día’. He also took the opportunity to clarify that he did not leave Telemundo on bad terms; on the contrary, it was a personal decision that led him to leave his job as host of the morning show.
For this reason, colleagues such as Penélope Menchaca, Chiky Bombom and Gabriel Coronel were dismayed by the news that she gave them, while Carlos Calderón sent her an emotional message to wish her the best in the path she is taking.
“Today, while I’m recovering at home from a cold, I found out that my dear @danarenas chose this day to say goodbye to @hoydia. What hurt me the most was not being able to give you a big hug, my friend. You are one of those colleagues with whom one dreams of working: a gentleman, a professional and a good friend. In addition, you had the great detail of giving me a farewell gift with words that I appreciate and thank you very much,” he began by saying in the post.
Carlos did not miss the opportunity to highlight the virtues of the Colombian and what he learned about him when they worked together: “It has been my pleasure, because being by your side when you talk about your faith, your principles, and seeing how you clearly distinguish between good and bad, facing those who defend the indefensible, is something that is increasingly difficult to find. You have put my own ideas and my sense of humor to the test, in which you were always complicit with a laugh.”
Calderón was fired from Univision some time ago. However, Telemundo decided to have him on the morning show and the Mexican has not forgotten the way Daniel received him. Therefore, he did not hesitate to post a long message for someone who always behaved very well with him.
“Thank you for welcoming me the way you did, for supporting my business on air, for going to Vanessa’s play, for always asking about León, for your honesty and for being a great partner. We celebrated together triumphs that never existed before and that many thought were unattainable! It was an honor to have been on that same team with you, we will continue building,” he added.
Daniel Arenas on his departure from ‘Hoy Día’
“Nobody is firing me from the company, there was no problem, I adore and love Telemundo and above all my program ‘Hoy Día’, which will always be my home. I am enormously grateful for the opportunity that you gave me, to be with you every day, to host a program like this which is a great responsibility,” he said in front of the Telemundo cameras.
