Actor Zac Efron was hospitalized in Ibiza Town, Spain, after suffering a “minor swimming incident” in a pool inside a villa on Friday night, August 2.
According to the specialized media TMZ, the “High School Musical” singer was found inside a pool by two people from the Spanish villa, who pulled him out of the water. However, and so far, it has not been revealed if the American was unconscious or was just limited to getting out of the water.
Following the incident, the singer was admitted to a hospital in Ibiza as a precautionary measure.

Zac Efron is doing well
Following his hospitalization, Zac Efron’s representative revealed to the media that the artist was discharged a few hours after his admission, during the morning of August 3.
However, to date, no exact details have been provided regarding the reason why the interpreter of “The Greatest Showman” suffered this incident while he was swimming.
Similarly, and in addition to the above, it was not mentioned whether the actor was intoxicated or if the “incident” was caused by an injury, fainting or another reason.
Regarding Efron’s presence in Ibiza City, it was previously revealed that he was taking a break after starring in the film “The Iron Claw,” alongside Golden Globe winner Jeremy Allen White, actress Lily James, among other stars.
Following the incident, it has not been revealed whether the actor will remain in Spain for a few more days or return to the United States.
Zac Efron and his great friendship with Simon Biles
Prior to the revelation of the Efron incident, and in the context of the celebration of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, the well-known friendship between the actor and American gymnast Simon Biles went viral.
Since 2016, during the Rio Olympics, both stars met on the Today show, where Biles showed her admiration for Efron, who reciprocated.
Since then, both Efron and Biles have maintained a strong friendship, which resurfaced recently after the American triumphed at the current Paris Games.
In response to this, and through his Instagram account, the artist sent a message of respect and admiration towards the gymnast: “So incredibly proud of you.”
