Wendy Guevara responded to Osmel Sousa after the ‘Beauty Czar’ said he had no problem with trans women participating in the Miss Universe pageant, but what he doesn’t like is that the candidates are overweight.
In response to this comment, the press asked the winner of the first season of ‘La Casa de los Famosos México’ for her opinion and she replied to the reporters who interviewed her that she did not find the message she gave pleasant at all.
“Who is Osmel? The man who brings a throne, but he is fat too. He is fatphobic, oh no. I think he has lost about two sizes, because I think there is nothing worse than a fat woman losing weight,” she commented.
With this, she makes it clear that she did not like the words of the beauty pageant expert, as she believes that all women should have opportunities to compete.
Several users have reacted to this controversy. Some of the comments read are: “I don’t agree with trans women participating”, “He is a bit oversized, but he is not going to participate”.
What else has Osmel Sousa said?
The Miss Universe pageant advisor said he has no problems with transgender people or older women.
“I was the first person to support, a year and a half ago, the inclusion of transgender and older women. I don’t like being overweight, to be honest, because I think that being overweight leads to illnesses,” he said.
In addition to this, she indicated that with trans women the most important thing is that they are beautiful.
She said there are also 40-year-old women she has seen who deserve a chance.
Over time, this beauty pageant has made several changes to the entry requirements for participants, with the intention of being more inclusive and, above all, showing women from different facets.
This year, the contest will be held in Mexico, so Latin countries, which have a great passion for beauty queens, will be very excited about everything that happens in this edition.
