The body of a young man was discovered floating in the Harlem River on Sunday morning, New York authorities reported.
The body of the unidentified man, believed to be in his 20s, was found shortly after 9:30 a.m. when officers responded to a 911 call about an unconscious man seen face down in the river near East 106th Street, officials said.
The man was also pulled from the water by the New York Police Department’s Harbor Unit and was pronounced dead at the scene, the New York Post reported.
The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office will officially determine the cause of death of the young man in question, the New York Police Department (NYPD) explained.
The discovery came two days after an unidentified woman was discovered floating in the East River near East 23rd Street around 10:50 a.m. Friday, officials said.
The body was initially discovered higher up on the Upper East Side and was reportedly dragged downtown, according to the NYPD.
The woman’s identity was unknown as of Sunday, pending further investigations, authorities said.
