The next Social Security payment for married couples receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will be made in August.

This payment is not a bonus or an additional payment, but rather the one corresponding to the month of September.

And because the Social Security Administration cannot send payments on non-working days, the payment date has been moved up.

Payment details

The Social Security Administration (SSA) has scheduled SSI payments for Friday, August 30, 2024, instead of Sunday, September 1, 2024.

This means that beneficiaries must save this money for the following month, since it corresponds to September.

Benefits for SSI recipients

This advance payment allows beneficiaries to buy what they need, pay debts and cover bills.

To remain eligible for the Supplemental Security Income Program, recipients must meet all requirements and remain eligible.

If you still have low income, little disposable income, and are blind, disabled, or at least 65, you may continue receiving SSI payments in August.

Those who have recently gotten married, gotten a job or earned money should report it.

Which couples will receive $1,415 of SSI?

Couples receiving Supplemental Security Income can get up to $1,415 as long as they qualify for the full amount.

To receive this amount, it is easier if you have no income or resources.

However, other families in financial difficulty – who do have income – may also qualify.

SSI recipients who are single can receive up to $943, and essential workers can get a payment of up to $472.
