Donald Trump, the former president and current Republican candidate for the US presidential election, announced on Tuesday that he will hold an “important interview” with Elon Musk next week.
In a statement published on his website Truth Social on Tuesday, Trump anticipated the interview scheduled for next Monday night with Musk, Efe reports.
The mogul and owner of the social network X had previously supported President Joe Biden during the last election, but now he expressed affinity for the former president’s Republican ideas and has even urged his followers to vote for Trump in November.
This conversation with the tech entrepreneur is part of a series of interviews that the Republican candidate has recently conducted with various personalities, influencers and conservative media outlets.
The most recent was with the streamer Adin Ross, broadcast on the Kick platform from Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s residence in Florida.
On the campaign trail, Donald Trump has reiterated his decision not to participate in the debate scheduled against current vice president and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris on September 10 on ABC, proposing instead that the meeting take place on Fox News.
Elon Musk, who has 193 million followers on X, has denied recent reports from the Wall Street Journal suggesting he donates more than $40 million a month to Trump’s campaign.
Although he has denied this claim, Musk does not hide his sympathy for conservative political ideas in his public comments.
