Lucero believes that divorcing Mijares was a “failure”

Since their separation, Lucero and Mijares have shown that it is possible to maintain a cordial and constructive relationship for the benefit of their children. In the recent interview with Yordi Rosado, Lucero was open and reflective about her experience, stressing that, although their journey as a couple came to an end, the priority has always been the well-being of Lucerito and José Manuel.

“One of my biggest failures was getting divorced, because we thought we were married for life and we wanted to have a marriage that would last forever. It was outside our plans, it wasn’t in our dictionary. When it happens, you start to understand things, you say: ‘If we couldn’t have a good marriage, then we have to have a good divorce,’” she told the Mexican.

The 54-year-old Mexican businesswoman added that the process was smooth: “They say you don’t know the person you’re divorcing very well, and I think he’s a gentleman who never came up with anything, there were never any problems. I consider myself an intelligent and balanced person who has never asked for stupid things, nor done anything stupid to damage the relationship we had.”

“I am excited to be able to have a relationship within a dysfunctional family, something so functional. I am very proud of the great father and the great person that I was lucky enough to choose to have a family with, he is a respectful, wonderful man,” said Mijares’ ex-wife.

The singer revealed that the separation was a difficult time for both of them, but that over time they have learned to be a team in raising their children. Lucero emphasized her pride in being a mother and in the way she and Mijares have managed to maintain a friendly and respectful relationship, which in turn has benefited their children by providing them with a stable family environment despite the changes in their relationship.

“It is part of my life, my whole life is going to be my family, his family, it is part of mine, we are all a nucleus and I am very grateful for that, that is why today we can do shows together. What we found is to be able to lead a healthy life, without fights, without arguments, without shouting, without hat-throwing, deciding to stop being husband and wife, to be friends and parents of our children,” she told Yordi Rosado.
