Julia Gama, a Brazilian model and actress, explained the reasons behind her departure from the reality show ‘La Isla: Desafío Extremo’, broadcast by Telemundo and recorded in Turkey.
In a live on Instagram, she said that she has had difficult days after suffering an accident on the project. “We were in a game, a balancing act, and I came to counterbalance a person who was much heavier than me and I ended up flying in this counterbalance that had to be done and it was not possible, I flew from a height of three meters and fell with everything on the ground, on my back. The moment I fell, it was such a pain that I said ‘something happened’ and there you have the despair that you are not in your country, that you do not know how they are going to treat you, no matter how many hospitals they have or whatever, it is not your language, it is not Spanish, it is not English.”
The artist explained that this fact was not shown because of a decision made by the production. “I understand that they have their reasons, as much as they like strong scenes, I think this one was too strong and they decided not to put it in the show because it was not a nice moment, maybe it was not useful for the show.”
The former beauty queen explained that Julián Gil, Angélica Celaya and Sergio Mayer approached her immediately and her greatest fear was that she had fractured her bone.
She was then immobilised and taken away in an ambulance. “We were still in Istanbul when this happened, but it was a long way to get to the hospital.”
Julia Gama was given a check-up to receive a diagnosis, but she said it took a long time to give her a diagnosis.
The actress explained that she felt a lot of pain and did not understand what was happening, until the next day she was told that she had two fractured vertebrae and a very strong blow to her cervical spine and head.
As a result, he also lost feeling in his left hand and will have to undergo surgery on his left knee, as he tore the cruciate ligament.
Despite the situation, she is grateful, as she confessed: “I could have been paralyzed, something worse could have happened, I didn’t know what was going to happen, what was going to happen from then on, but as long as I was moving my legs, I said thank you God for everything and that is the first lesson and I remember it better.”
The artist explained that she is grateful for her health because she faced something very difficult. “It has not been an easy process, but gratitude is something that has moved me,” she said.
