Feruz Radjabov has been charged on suspicion of stabbing two unknown assailants minutes apart in Queens, New York, leaving one of them seriously injured.
Radjabov, a 40-year-old homeless man, allegedly stabbed a man pumping gas in the back in Ozone Park and then ran to a nearby subway stop, where he allegedly slashed the throat of a man waiting for a train, according to the New York police.
The 40-year-old suspect was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons possession, as well as breaking and entering, resisting arrest, obstructing government administration and harassment, the agency said. Daily News.
The first victim was a 25-year-old man who was pumping gas at the Mobil North Conduit Ave. station near Cohancy St. in Ozone Park when he was stabbed about 5:15 p.m. Surveillance video captured that attack, police said.
The victim “was bleeding heavily from the left side,” said station worker Rakib Hussein (30). “He was pumping petrol at pump number one and the guy came up and stabbed him in the back.”
The young man staggered into the gas station where Hussein was working behind the cash register and asked for help. Paramedics took him to Jamaica Hospital, where he is recovering.
Radjabov then ran a block from the gas station to the Aqueduct-North Conduit Ave. subway station on the A line and slashed a 69-year-old man in the neck as he stood on the Far Rockaway-bound platform, according to the NYPD. That victim was in critical condition at Jamaica Hospital.
According to ABC News, Radjabov hid under the subway platform after the stabbings, where police caught up with him minutes after the second attack. He was taken to Queens Hospital for a psychological evaluation.
Also this week, a woman with apparent mental problems was accused of pushing two Mexican tourists onto the subway tracks in Lower Manhattan.
All charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
