A Hispanic migrant who receives orders for food and products through the Instacart app and then delivers them to homes in New York City revealed how much money he earns. Ramón Rojas, of Dominican origin, says he has been doing this for four years and it has allowed him to earn extra money.
Rojas doesn’t have a set schedule, but he starts his day at 4:00 p.m. and goes to 9:00 p.m. “It’s a schedule that suits me because there are people who do this for a whole day, full time,” says Dominican vlogger Alfy Tavarez.
Rojas has a steady job, where he does have to keep to a set schedule, but which gives him the option of working on Instacart in the afternoons. “For me it’s a hobby, it’s not mandatory. I have fun and I like it,” he says.
What does it take to work with Instacart in New York?
The migrant explains what a person needs to start working for Instacart in New York. Basically, he says that a vehicle, a current license and an application.
The company will then make a background to see if the applicant has a criminal record and, once they are accepted, they can begin.
The young man waits approximately 15 to 30 minutes to receive orders and says that he prefers short distances to avoid wasting time in traffic. “I recommend that people have two or three fixed establishments,” he adds.
Ramón Rojas says he has not had any bad experiences at work and affirms that he is careful when driving and that he is careful when choosing products for his clients.
However, he warns that there are customers who accuse workers of not delivering complete purchases, so he also advised: “Always take photos (of the products) when you deliver the orders, because that way the customer can’t say that you didn’t deliver it. And it serves as a great defense.”
She also points out that she avoids taking orders that are too heavy or too small. “What you need is patience, time and studying the application. Study your area and know where you can make purchases and where you can’t,” she suggests.
Another important fact that she shares is that people who want to start working and earn extra money with Instacart must have at least basic knowledge of English, written and spoken. Sometimes, they will have to talk to customers through chat and even by phone.

The Dominican migrant points out that, compared to other places in the United States, more orders are placed in New York City because there are many people who place their orders on Instacart and the tips are good. He recalls that a high tip he received was $100 dollars.
She also claims that a person recently placed an order for 36 items, for which she was paid $70 and also given a $60 tip.
The foreigner also indicates that working with Instacart he can earn up to $1,500 dollars a week, although everything will depend on the time dedicated to the application.
