At the end of 2022, Netflix released ‘Wednesday’, a series starring Jenna Ortega and directed by Tim Burton. The actress recently spoke about one of her encounters with the director and the impression she had when she entered his house.
Ortega was interviewed by Vanity Fair magazine. There she explained that she and Burton met at the director’s house to talk about the second season of Wednesday and about Beetlejuice, a sequel that was expected after the success of its first season. During the interview it is clear that the meeting took place before the series took off and was nominated for multiple awards.
The best part of the story is when Ortega talks about the moment he first set foot in the director’s house in Los Angeles, California. He says that the first thing he saw upon entering was a large throne from ‘Alice in Wonderland’ – remember that Burton adapted the popular Lewis Carroll story for the big screen.
He also said that in one of the bathrooms of the residence there is a jar with eyeballs, something that could be scary and unpleasant for anyone, except for the director of films such as ‘Edward Scissorhands’ (1990) and ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ (1993).
Ortega was unable to tour the entire property to get more details, but it appears the residence is a sort of museum where visitors can explore Tim Burton’s film and television work.
During this same visit, Burton offered Ortega a role in ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’, a film that will be released on September 6 of this year.
