Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump appeared at a campaign rally in Montana, where he responded to Democratic candidate Tim Walz’s comment after calling him and JD Vance “weird.”
Tim Walz, who was announced by Kamala Harris as her running mate for the November election, spoke about his opponents and called them “weird.” “These guys are creepy, they are so weird,” Walz said, referring to Trump and Vance, during a rally in Pennsylvania, in his first appearance as a vice presidential candidate.
“We want to have good elections”
The former president did not stay silent and responded to those comments during a campaign event in Bozeman, Montana. Trump said: “No, we are not weird. We are very solid people,” Time reported.
He continued: “We want to have strong borders. We want to have good elections…” Trump said. “I think we are the opposite of weird. They are weird.”
Time also reported that Donald Trump claimed that Kamala Harris’s campaign seeks to discredit them when they appear at his events.
“It’s incredible. It’s not a word that’s used too much in politics. No, JD Vance is a great patriot,” he said. Trump later posted these comments on his Truth Social account.
Vance also responded
Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance also responded to the Minnesota governor’s comments about being called “weird.”
“I think the argument about ‘strange’ came from a group of 24-year-old interns (who work) on their social media (…) What seems strange to me is opening the border to fentanyl so that it reaches our communities,” Vance said in a meeting with journalists.
The Ohio senator said the label “makes no sense” and described himself as “a normal guy who wants to live the American dream.”
“I have my wife and I have three beautiful children at home. If those people (Democratic Party) want to call me weird, I think that’s a great honor,” he added.
