Voice actor Alfonso Obregón, known for his iconic voice in the Spanish version of “Shrek,” has been placed in preventive detention after being accused of alleged sexual abuse against a student in February 2022. The decision was made in response to the accusations made against him.

The authorities are handling the investigation with great seriousness, and pretrial detention has been imposed while the legal process is underway. This is a standard measure in cases of this type to ensure the appearance of the accused and protect the integrity of the investigation.

During the initial hearing following his arrest, the public prosecutor charged him with the crime he allegedly committed in his capacity as a dubbing teacher against one of the people he taught classes to.

The defense of “Alfonso N” requested the duplication of the term, so the judge gave another date for the continuation of the same. But he considered that there were sufficient elements to order preventive detention, so he must remain in prison in the Northern Preventive Prison until it is decided whether or not he is linked to the process.

The judge considered that the arrest was carried out legally and declared the arrest warrant against him fulfilled, reported the Attorney General’s Office (FGJ) of Mexico City.

“According to the investigations of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the Investigation of Sexual Crimes, the individual possibly carried out acts classified as sexual abuse on the victim, inside a home,” said the FGJ.

The investigation file states that the actor allegedly touched the victim in a sexual manner in February 2022.

The actor himself revealed in a post circulating on social network X that he was accused of sexual assault.

“The only thing I did was tell a girl (sic) in an exercise ‘clench your ass’. That was my sexual assault, right?; (what) my singing teacher did to me, my acting teachers, for them it was assault,” she said.
