A new defeat for the Chicago White Sox, currently the worst team in the Major Leagues with a record of 28 wins and 91 losses, unleashed unprecedented fury among its fans during the end of the series against the Chicago Cubs at Guaranteed Rate Field, with a fight involving more than 10 people.
As a video widely shared on social media showed, outside the White Sox home several fans were heading back home after falling 3-1 to the Cubs, but apparently frustration boiled over in a fan wearing the number 8 who began hitting another woman who was nearby.
This was enough for both of them to start teasing each other and throwing several punches at each other, which forced other men to intervene and subsequently start a second fight in a spectacle that seemed worthy of wrestling.
The situation quickly escalated to the point where more than 10 people were fighting with punches and kicks at the same time, remaining like this for several minutes until the stadium security forces arrived and began to separate those involved.
What is most striking is that when the Chicago authorities finally arrived at the scene of the fight, no arrests were made in connection with the incident, as the police later confirmed.
The fight that took place in Chicago on Saturday is not the first of its kind seen outside a Major League Baseball stadium. Recently, during the series between the Yankees and Phillies, another similar altercation occurred, leaving a fan unconscious after being hit in the face.
