Chivas Rayadas de Guadalajara footballer Fernando Beltrán was quite excited and nervous about the arrival of Javier Aguirre and Rafael Márquez as technical director and technical assistant respectively of the Mexican national team for what will be the work they will do in preparation for the 2026 World Cup that will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

During an interview with TUDN, the player from Rebaño Sagrado highlighted the hierarchy that the historic captain of the Mexican national team possesses and considered that this will give him a higher level of demand because he was part of one of the best teams in the history of the Tri.

“I will be very nervous about Rafa, if I end up going, a guy I really admire for what he was and what he did. With Javier, who has a very good career in Europe and the important part is that he can help us to improve as well, see what you can learn from him, what he sees there that is not done here perhaps, in a certain way very motivated because it is a good coaching staff,” he said.

To conclude, Nene Beltrán considered that it is vitally important to make a generational change within the Mexican national team because it has been seriously affected in the last year; he emphasized that despite age or experience, the best Mexican players are the ones who should wear the jersey to defend the team.

“I hope you don’t take what I think the wrong way, but in my humble opinion, I think it doesn’t matter if it’s a young player, an older player, a more experienced player, a 27, 28 year old player, the truth is that I don’t focus on that. I think the focus would be on who is better at that moment in that position or in each position so that they can represent Mexico as they deserve,” Beltrán said in his statements.

“Let us take advantage of each player’s moment so that the national team can enhance its matches and we can compete… I give more to that approach than if it were experience or youth, I think that in the end everyone is ready to play and everyone wants to play in the national team and everyone will want to give their best version, in the end the coach decides,” concluded the player.
