Film director Ruben Fleischer is not only proud of ‘Zombieland’ and the films he has directed. He is also proud of his newly remodeled home in New Jersey.
Fleischer is so proud of the final result of the remodeling that he showed it off to the trade magazine ‘Architectural Digest’. From the moment the director and his wife Holly Shakoor Fleischer bought the place, they were clear about the changes they wanted to make.
The couple used the Tudor-style house built in 1909 as their canvas. To bring their ideas to life, they hired designers Damian and Britt Zunino, directors of the specialist firm Studio DB.
It should be said that the Flischer family mansion spans nearly 10,000 square feet, so there is more than enough room to create.
Before getting started on the extravagant decor, the team had to make some structural changes. According to Architectural Digest, one of the problems with the house was leaks and that was one of the first fixes. The kitchen was also completely remodeled, a mudroom was installed and a second-floor bathroom was converted into a laundry room.
The designers and owners of the house wanted to add a lot of color and eye-catching elements to the interior of the house, but to keep all the original details of the residence. Among the details they kept, we should mention the wood in several areas and the other details made with plaster.
To add color, works of art and wallpaper were used mainly.
It should be noted that this renovation was very exciting for the couple, as this house in New Jersey also represents a change of life for them. They have been living in Los Angeles, California for several years, and have just moved to the East Coast.
