A Donald Trump presidential campaign office in Virginia was the victim of a robbery and the suspect was caught on surveillance cameras, Loudoun County authorities said Monday and are investigating the incident.
The robbery was reported to authorities at approximately 9:00 p.m. However, the suspect had already left the scene before sheriff’s deputies arrived. He was described as an adult male with a white complexion, wearing dark clothing, a cap and carrying a backpack.
The suspect has not been apprehended at this time, but the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the community’s help in identifying the individual.
The investigation is ongoing and it has not yet been confirmed whether the suspect took any valuables or left anything at the crime scene.
Meanwhile, Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman expressed concern about the unusual nature of the incident.
“It is rare for a campaign or political party office to be burglarized,” Chapman said in a news release. “We are determined to identify the suspect, investigate why it happened, and determine what may have been taken and what may have been left behind.”
The campaign office, which is rented, also serves as the headquarters of the Virginia 10th District Republican Committee.
Trump’s campaign is taking a major step forward after speaking to Elon Musk on Monday on the X platform. The former president is seeking to make a comeback in the polls against Kamala Harris, who has been endorsed by Democrats, and will try to capitalize on the upcoming debates.
