Actress Paty Navidad confronted journalist Anabel Hernández, who in the book “Las Mujeres del Narco” (The Women of Narco) links the winner of ‘Top Chef VIP 3’ with organized crime.
During a live broadcast on Telemundo’s ‘La Mesa Caliente’ program, the Mexican stood face to face with her compatriot and demanded from the author the evidence with which she has supported the statements she narrates.
“You mention me in one of your books with three different stories. There is one that I accepted and told since it happened, because it makes me proud and counts in my favor, in which it makes clear my values, my integrity, my dignity and who I am. But there are two other stories that you mention that are completely false. I invited you at that time to show me the proof,” Navidad said.
“I think your book is based on things that you have been told. It is a book that is written in a deceitful way for me, based on what I was told, what is said and what is rumored. There is no way you can prove to me those two stories that are completely false,” Paty added to Hernández during the program.
Paty Navidad said she had intended to file a lawsuit against the writer for the mentions in the book, however, she revealed that she was unable to do so because of the way it was written.
“I am not involved in drug trafficking nor do I have any ties to it as you have said. I wanted to file a complaint against you, ma’am.” “Do it,” the author replied.
“I can’t, because your book is written in a gossipy way, you have to sell it as comics, as science fiction or as gossip, you mix truths with lies and when you combine truths with lies the value of your entire book is lost. I ask you, what are your sources? Because then you have to be investigated. Where do you get all these sources that they tell you?”
“At least there is not a single proof of the residence that you say they gave me, of the jewels that you say a certain footballer gave me, whose name I had never even heard of in my life. You cannot prove anything to me,” the model also retorted.
Anabel Hernández continued to defend her investigative work in the book, which involves other stars such as Galilea Montijo, Ninel Conde and Arleth Terán, about women who allegedly received luxuries from drug traffickers.
“Anyone who feels offended should sue me. In any case, if you feel offended, I will tell you why you don’t do it. You don’t do it because it’s true,” the writer said.
Paty Navidad said she feels very good for having had the opportunity to tell Anabel Hernández what she thinks and to be able to defend herself from the accusations.
