Raúl de Molina, like many celebrities, has positioned himself in favor of Venezuela, defending the freedom of this country and demanding that justice be done in the matter of the presidential elections, which legitimately give victory to Edmundo González.
Fernando Carrillo, a well-known soap opera actor, has used his digital platforms to reiterate his support for Nicolás Maduro, stating that the elections were legitimate and assuring that peace reigns in Venezuela and not all the chaos that the vast majority of his compatriots claim against Maduro’s dictatorship.
His political stance has been widely criticized by both Lili Estefan and Raúl de Molina. Like them, Raúl González, host of Despierta América, and many other faces of Venezuelan origins in the entertainment industry have also taken a stand against Carrillo.
The public is also on Raúl de Molina’s side and they express it on IG and YouTube: “It is a shame both Fernando Carrillo and all those artists who do not speak out to defend Venezuela, here in Ecuador there are thousands of Venezuelans begging, sleeping in the streets with children, it is so sad that the richest country in South America has its people as beggars.”
Faced with this strong reaction against him, the actor decided to temporarily abandon his social media accounts. But in the midst of this withdrawal, he decided to return to them to send a message to the host of “El Gordo y la Flaca” and accuse him of disrespecting him as well as the truth.
The Venezuelan also claims that Univision pays Raúl to give this editorial stance, while Lili and her partner assure that they are giving their opinions freely and that the channel has nothing to do with this stance.
De Molina stands by his opinions, stressing that although Carillo has the right to have his own political opinions, it is also true that it has become clear that his loyalty has been mistaken, because in the eyes of the world he is on the side of a dictatorship.
