The arrival of historic Mexican forward Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernández to Chivas Rayadas de Guadalajara has become one of the most criticized events within the Liga MX in the last year due to the fact that he has not been able to demonstrate his goalscoring qualities, having only scored one goal to date; this poor performance has caused the striker to spend most of his time on the bench or recovering from an injury.

In the face of this poor performance, sports analyst and historic Mexican player, Carlos Hermosillo, launched a harsh criticism on the FOX Sports network regarding the poor performance that Chicharito has shown on the field of play, especially given the complicated period he has had to undergo after undergoing surgery on one of his knees and which has not allowed him to show his best level.

Hermosillo stressed that Chicharito’s return to Liga MX and especially to the Rebaño Sagrado occurred “out of time” because his physical appearance was already something that left much to be desired.

“I have said what it is; I think it is ridiculous and stupid for a player who has already achieved everything in Europe to come to Mexico with a nine-month injury, without activity and where this is going to happen. It is part of the imbalance of not having been active for months. I am not saying it is bad or good. He is a player who has great movements on the field. If they understand him, he can score, but Chivas does not generate goals,” he said.

Carlos Hermosillo also stressed that these criticisms against the former Real Madrid and Los Angeles Galaxy star have nothing to do with personal issues; despite that, he maintained that the performance shown in recent months has left a lot for the goal scorer and especially for the people of Guadalajara who announced this signing as the big surprise of the market.

“I don’t compare myself to Chicharito, he is an international player and a figure,” said the former player, who highlighted Hernández’s impressive professional career and positioned him as one of the best in recent years.
