Catalan authorities have taken a significant step in the investigation into the violent attack suffered by Mounir Nasraoui, father of young FC Barcelona talent Lamine Yamal. Three people were arrested by the Mossos d’Esquadra on suspicion of stabbing the footballer’s father in the town of Mataró.
According to EFE, the incident took place on Wednesday night in the Rocafonda neighborhood. According to eyewitnesses and a video circulating on social media, Nasraoui was involved in a heated argument with a group of individuals prior to the stabbing. This sequence of events has led investigators to suspect that both incidents are related.
Fortunately, despite the severity of his injuries, Mounir Nasraoui is out of danger and hospitalised at the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital in Badalona. The health authorities have not yet provided a detailed medical report on his condition, but it is known that he suffered multiple stab wounds to the abdomen.
The detainees, who are in police custody at the Mataró police station, will be brought before a judge in the next few hours. The Mossos d’Esquadra are continuing to work on the investigation and do not rule out the possibility of further arrests.
