Republican candidate Donald Trump on Sunday resorted to personal attacks against his political rival, Democrat Kamala Harris. During a rally in Pennsylvania, the New York magnate said that he is much more handsome than the current vice president of the United States.

Specifically, the former president referred to the portrait of Harris, signed by Neil Jamieson, which was published on the cover of the prestigious magazine TimeShe said that “they had to draw her” because none of the photos they supposedly took of her worked.

“So they had to hire a sketch artist. This former Reagan speechwriter says that Kamala Harris has a huge advantage, that she is very pretty, but I am much more handsome than Kamala Harris!” she said.

But Donald Trump’s comments did not stop there: he also questioned her mental health and even mocked characteristics such as the laughter of the Democratic candidate, who would surpass him in percentage terms, and by a narrow margin, according to polls.

“She is a real radical left-wing lunatic. People say, ‘be nice.’ Did you hear her laugh? That is the laugh of a crazy person. That is the laugh of a lunatic. I am more handsome than Kamala! They said her biggest asset is that she is a beautiful woman. I never thought about that, I am more handsome than her,” he said.

The Republican also recalled President Joe Biden’s poor performance in the debate and said that’s why Kamala Harris is currently the Democratic presidential candidate. “They wanted to have a debate. That’s what started it all. If I hadn’t debated him, I would still be a candidate right now. But I think she’ll be easier to beat than him,” he said.

Former President Donald Trump has begun a counterattack. This week he will step up his campaign to capture media attention ahead of the formal announcement of Kamala Harris’ presidential candidacy at the Democratic National Convention.

Trump, according to his team, will visit four strategic states in total: Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina and Arizona. His speech will focus mainly on migration and the economy.

As the Republicans try to gain an advantage, the Democratic convention, which will be held in Chicago from Monday to Thursday, will feature prominent politicians such as Barack and Michelle Obama and Bill Clinton.
