Following the arrest of doctors and an assistant of Matthew Perry, it has just come to light that the actor spent more than $55,000 on ketamine, during the 29 days prior to his death.
According to legal documents obtained by Dailymail, the “Friends” star and her assistant Kenny Iwamasa paid approximately $55,000 for ketamine and surgical anesthesia.
They even claim that Perry met with Dr. Salvador Plasencia a few days before his death and was injected in a parking lot.
“Iwamasa and Plasencia had exchanged thousands of dollars in cash for bottles of ketamine. Iwamasa illegally spent $6,000 on 25 bottles of ketamine, nine days after he had illegally purchased 25 vials of ketamine,” the documents read.
Now that Matthew Perry’s assistant Iwamasa and the doctors who supplied him with ketamine have been arrested, it has been revealed that on the day of his death his worker injected the actor with ketamine three times, leaving Perry unable to speak or move.
Despite this, doctors Mark Chavez and Salvador Plasencia, who were arrested in connection with the case, can still legally prescribe medication.
Ketamine was listed as the primary cause of the actor’s death, which was ruled an accident with no suspicion of foul play, according to the report. Drowning and other medical issues were contributing factors, the coroner said.
Matthew Perry was known not only for his success on television, but also for his openness about his personal battles with substance abuse and his commitment to rehabilitation. His death sparked deep sadness among his fans and opened up a dialogue about the importance of mental health and the issues of treating addictions in those facing similar situations.
Matthew Perry, known for his iconic role as Chandler Bing in the television series “Friends,” passed away on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54.
