The body of a man was found floating in the water near Pier 12 in Brooklyn on Sunday afternoon, the New York Police Department (NYPD) reported.

Authorities responded to a 911 call at 1:49 p.m. Sunday.

The person who made the report reported seeing a man floating in the water near Van Brunt Street and King Street.

Officials pulled an unconscious individual, believed to be in his 30s, from the water, Pix11 New York reported.

Emergency medical services were also called and the unidentified man was declared dead.

The subject’s name is pending notification to family.

No further details have been given regarding this particular case so far.

The investigation is ongoing and the medical examiner will determine the cause of death, according to the NYPD.
